Interaction:

We are local to the area. While we try to anticipate your needs we are available via the Airbnb app to answer any questions you might have.

Neighborhood:

The laid-back German Village is known for charming brick houses built by 19th-century immigrants along Beck, Mohawk, and Deshler streets. Shops selling books, traditional fudge, and handmade jewelry mingle with art galleries, German pubs, American bistros, and artisan coffee shops. In summer, the Actors’ Theatre Columbus stages outdoor Shakespeare and other plays in Schiller Park with its fountains and flower beds.

Access:

You will have access to the entire property.

Space:

This property is rare in German Village. We offer a private backyard with a large patio and dining table. Pull your vehicle into a two car garage and avoid searching for parking.

The first floor greets you with our fully stocked kitchen, complete with gas range oven, coffee maker with all the fixings, dishwasher, full fridge, and everything you will need to cook at home. The home's only full bath, which includes a tub and shower combo, is just off the kitchen on the first floor.

To the left of the kitchen is a living room where you'll find our modem/router combo with blazing fast wifi with download speeds of up to 200 mbps! We've got plenty of seating so you and your small party can find their favorite place to chill out.

Just off the living room is a dining table with enough seating for 6 people.

Head upstairs and find the two most charming bedrooms to the left and right. Exposed beams and an oversized chandelier make these two bedrooms worthy of an Instagram shot!

Our bedrooms each include a queen size bed, 2 pillows per person, a bench, mirrors, and two end tables with lamps.

And yes! You have access to the basement where you'll find newer washer and dryer units that you're welcome to use.

If charm, coziness, and staying near everything Columbus has to offer is on your list of "must haves" you've gotta stay here!

Transit:

The easiest way to get around to other parts of Columbus is via your car, Uber, or Lyft. If the weather is nice try a Lime scooter! They're super fun!

German Village is a very walkable neighborhood. If you're not going far and the weather is nice, we absolutely recommend walking the neighborhood and checking out all the amazing historical homes.

Notes:

Please note, the two bedrooms are on the second floor. Everything else is on the first floor, including the only bathroom, which is right off the kitchen.

This home is old —like all homes in German Village! The stairs up to the second floor are steeper than more modern stairs.

The ice maker in the freezer is *not* hooked up. We provide an ice tray for you instead.

I was so excited to check out this historic Columbus neighborhood. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. Nick and Sarah did a great job accommodating us while we visited some family in town. Their home is beautiful and has modern, remodeled decor. The home is stocked with basic essentials, which was nice especially for a morning coffee everyday. The home has a cute backyard, which was fun for our visitors since the weather was great for being outside. Our only issue was the AC not working our first two days. Nick was quick to respond and visited within the next hour the check it out himself. He was very friendly and professional and got the problem fixed within the next day! He even offered options for other homes if the AC didn’t get fixed, which we fortunately didn’t end up needing. Finally, we were glad the home had a garage. If you’re renting a car while in town, it’s especially useful since street parking can be tight during different parts of the day. There are so many lovely places to checkout nearby. I wish we had more time to eat at all the gorgeous patio restaurants around! FYI - if you’re visiting with little children, the brick streets are not super friendly for strollers. We had family come by with toddlers and took one walk with the stroller but really struggled on the bumpy roads and uneven paths. Otherwise, I’d definitely come here again!

Beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood! Check in was a breeze. The big attached garage was a huge plus! Very clean and the ac worked perfect. Comfortable beds and the tv has all the apps you need to be entertained. Well stocked. Only negative would be the squeaky floors and the bathroom being downstairs from the bedrooms, but it was advertised as so, so I wasn't disappointed. I would definitely stay again if in town.

The location of the house in German Village is spectacular. Historic and quaint with hip restaurants and bars within walking distance. An easy Uber to downtown or the OSU campus. The house itself was clean, well equipped and updated with the same cozy feeling as the neighborhood. Communication was excellent and all went smoothly. We will always try to stay in German Village when we visit Columbus.

Family of 4 with two young kids. This was a great spot for us! We loved having the outdoor space for meals and for the kids to run around. The house looked great, was clean, and we enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is awesome, with a great bakery and coffee shop nearby. Lovely place just to walk around. The garage was a huge plus! Note that the stairs are steep so we had to keep an eye out for our little one, but that's where having the room outside was a huge bonus. Thank you for a great stay!
